More than a facial. The heart behind Alpenglow.
When people ask me what I do for a living, the simple answer is that I'm an esthetician.
The fuller answer is that I create space for women to rest.
Of course, I love skincare. I have spent more than 20 years studying skin, treating skin concerns, testing products, learning new techniques, and helping women achieve healthy, glowing results. I am endlessly fascinated by the science of skin and the incredible ways it reflects what is happening inside our bodies.
But after thousands of treatments and countless conversations, I've learned that women rarely come in seeking skincare alone.
They come in carrying the weight of their lives and needing a little bit of refuge.
Some are navigating hormonal changes. Some are caring for children, aging parents, businesses, marriages, or all of the above. Some are celebrating exciting new chapters. Others are quietly walking through grief, loss, disappointment, or exhaustion.
What many women are truly longing for isn't just better skin.
They're longing for a place where they can finally exhale.
That understanding has shaped everything I do at Alpenglow Skin Spa.
My journey here wasn't a straight path.
Long before I became a business owner, I experienced seasons of deep loss and hardship. I lost my mother at thirteen years old in a tragic accident, a loss that profoundly shaped my life. Years later, I experienced homelessness and spent a long time wrestling with grief, anger, and questions I couldn't answer.
My faith in Jesus transformed my life.
What began as healing in my own heart eventually became the foundation of how I care for others. The compassion, grace, and restoration I experienced became the lens through which I view beauty, wellness, and service.
When I opened Alpenglow Skin Spa, I wasn't simply building a skincare business. I was creating the kind of environment I wished existed more often in the world; a place where women could feel cared for, seen, and valued.
In 2008, I brought my advanced aesthetics training from California to Colorado Springs. At the time, professional skincare options were far more limited than they are today, and I wanted to introduce the treatments, techniques, and professional skincare lines that had made such a difference for my clients over the years.
What I didn't anticipate was how meaningful the relationships would become.
Many of the women who trust me with their skin have been with me for years. Some for nearly two decades. We've celebrated milestones together, weathered challenges together, and watched each other's families grow.
Over time, many clients have become dear friends.
Today, my approach blends advanced skincare with a deeply restorative experience. Healthy aging, facial massage, lymphatic drainage, hydration, barrier support, and personalized home care all play an important role in the work I do. I believe consistency often creates more beautiful results than chasing the latest trend, and I believe healthy skin is something that can be nurtured at every age.
That belief became even more personal when I welcomed my miracle daughter, Baylor, at 50 years old.
Becoming a mother later in life changed my perspective in ways I never expected. It deepened my appreciation for self-care, not as a luxury, but as something essential. I've learned that caring for ourselves isn't selfish. It's what allows us to show up fully for the people we love.
These days, I find joy in simple things; working out in my home gym, spending time with my husband and daughter, hiking with our dogs, singing worship music, playing guitar, writing songs, reading, cooking, and finding treasures while thrifting vintage pieces.
Life feels different than it once did & it’s so beautiful to evolve through different seasons & phases becoming a better version of yourself along the way.
Softer. Slower. More meaningful.
That's the same feeling I hope clients experience when they walk through my door.
Alpenglow Skin Spa is intentionally small and private. I work from a home studio and accept clients by referral, creating an environment that feels peaceful, personal, and unrushed.
If you're looking for more than a quick appointment — if you're seeking expert skincare, genuine connection, and a place where you can truly relax; you may have found exactly what you're looking for.
I'm grateful you're here, and I hope our paths cross soon.
In His love,
Courtney
